Learn MoreCREW requests copies of records of or reflecting the use of government funds to provide security and any other services for: (i) Eric Trump’s trip to Uruguay on or about January 5, 2017; (ii) Eric Trump’s trip to Dominican Republic on or about February 2,2017; (iii) the trip by Eric Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. to Dubai to open a clubhouse on or about February 18, 2017; and (iv) the trip by Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump, and Donald Trump, Jr. to Vancouver on or about February 28, 2017.
Ivanka, Donald Jr., Eric, and Tiffany Trump, as children of the president (and formerly the president-elect), are entitled to Secret Service protection. The requested records will shed light on the costs to taxpayers of trips undertaken to advance the financial interests of the Trump Organization, from which the president has refused to divest. The public interest is paramount in the Trump family’s use of federal funds to promote their international holdings, particularly at a time when the president’s proposing massive budget cuts.
