Following the indictment of former president Donald J. Trump in New York, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington President Noah Bookbinder, a former federal corruption prosecutor, released the following statement:

“Donald Trump was the most corrupt president in American history. He was the first president to be impeached twice, and now he’s the first former president to be criminally indicted. He has spent his entire political career dodging accountability for his wanton disregard for the law. It is finally catching up to him. The charges in New York are the first ever brought against him, but they will not be the last.”
