Washington, D.C.—In response to the United States District Court for the District of Delaware’s ruling against former Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) Executive Director Noah Bookbinder released the following statement:

“It took six and a half years, but we finally have closure in the complaint we brought against Christine O’Donnell. A $25,000 penalty is a clear signal that using campaign funds for personal expenses is taken very seriously by the government. We hope other candidates will take this as a sign and think twice before they try to personally benefit from their campaign fundraising.”
