CREW V. NATIONAL ARCHIVES AND RECORDS ADMINISTRATION

10 Jan 2007 // Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a lawsuit against the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in the District Court of the District of Columbia. The lawsuit was filed in response to NARA's failure to produce documents pursuant to a CREW Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. CREW had asked NARA to produce any records relating to communications with the Secret Service in which NARA ordered the Secret Service to stop destroying White House visitor logs. The Secret Service maintains the logs until they are transferred to the White House. CREW filed suit because NARA refused to provide these records.
