Senator Coburn thinks Dept. of Justice investigation may be unconstitutional
Senator Coburn (R-OK) has been dogged in his determination of the "Coconut Road" earmark controversy. Yet, he's not sure the Senate's vote for an investigation by the Department of Justice will pass constitutional muster. Coburn spoke to the Anchorage Daily News:
Coburn, who opposes earmarks and has been critical of the Alaska delegation, had asked for a bipartisan House and Senate committee to investigate the earmark. It would then refer its findings to the proper authorities. His proposal had 49 supporters, but needed 60 votes for approval.
Later, Coburn said he feared that the Senate's vote Thursday was unconstitutional. Congress can't order a criminal investigation any more than the Justice Department can investigate violations of congressional rules, Coburn said. It violates the Speech and Debate clause of the Constitution, which keeps investigators from using legislative materials as evidence of wrongdoing in criminal investigations.
"Violating congressional rules is not a crime, yet Congress has just given away its right to police itself with this misguided amendment," Coburn said.
His concerns were echoed by congressional budget and ethics watchdog groups, who say they worry that a criminal investigation won't get at the heart of what is essentially a procedural problem.

Dusty Foggo, the former # 3 at CIA originally was scheduled for trial last Oct 23rd. His trial now is pushed back to the day before Election Day--delayed so as not to sway the Election. Ironically with what is to come-out had this trial been held before the election, McCain would have the Election in the bag b/c of his 7 years of speaking out against one particular government and its leader that pitted him against GOP and Dems, alike. McCain was right about that nation and leader all along and Foggo was linked to that nation and leader by US DOJ-FBI by 8/06!
Bush couldn't fire Foggo, but he could fire Goss for having hired Foggo and did. Bush isn't discriminating against GOP vs. RNC, either. He made a campaign promise for 2000 that he would eliminate government waste and corruption and what is on its way right after the election could be no greater a promise fulfilled!
My company and its many offshoots that sought to find safe haven in many democracies in the world from the nation McCain has spoken-out against and US elected, appointed and hired officials committed official acts for (were its agents/spies), was the target of Foggo's strawmen, shell companies and private security installer coaxed to work with Brent Wilkes (in jail for bring Duke Cunningham) and Foggo mentioned in the last indictments. Last month federal prosecutors said they will be adding more charges toward the end of 4/08 to Foggo's indictments.
Right after the Election as evidence continues to be heard at the Foggo trial, the US Congress can be expected to be run through a meat grinder by me! Groups such as CREW, Sunlight Foundation, Judicial Watch, ACLU, etc. report on symptoms. The underlying cause of most symptoms nearly always lead back to the nation Foggo was tied to by US DOJ and McCain has time and time spoken-out against that made him many in Congress' enemy! When I am done with the US Congress very few members will be able to win in re-election! I even have dirt on Coburn and his illicit acts against my employer to the harm of his own constituents, the US and its allies! My dirt however is far worse on Senator Inhofe.
Virtually every member of the US Congress has committed treason against the US and its allies for already 6 1/4 years! In November I will be proving that 911 was an inside job committed by a majority of our Goliath defense contractors operating within the non-democracy which too, orchestrated 911, and using that non-democracy's payments on phony contracts to bribe US Congressional members via their PACs, 527s and campaigns to favor the non-democracy that orchestrated 911, and via the earmarking system install that non-democracy's foot soldiers! Also, I am very certain that since most of the US DHS senior leadership posts are filled by contractors that won (no-bid) professional services contracts via the earmarking system and they continue to perform the duties of 911 insiders for the non-democracy, that a majority of the DHS leadership is being indicted! I am certain one of our DHS Secretaries is being indicted and there's a strong chance both will be!
Anything not covered at trial I will be disclosing for US DOJ to make sure that no member of Congress abusing the spirit of the speech and debate clause survives another election. Any member of Congress that even supports that abuse of the speech and debate clause will be leaving office when I am done with them! Odds are when I am done with members of Congress and disclosing their evils--name by name, that their constituents won't wait for another election. Their constituents will do as our forefathers did with traitors and take the law into their own hands (tar, feather, drag behind horse and buggy and then lynch them).
Need I say further that US DOJ and every watchdog group are receiving a major boost in their endeavors from me next Nov! It can be no slanderous than for someone to be able to prove that 911 was an inside job of our defense suppliers and that the US Congress, member upon member performed the same duties as a 911 insider!
